Acrobatic Dance

AcroDance, also known as acro, is a captivating blend of traditional dance techniques and the precision and athleticism of acrobatics. This dance style features unique choreography that combines musicality, emotional expression, and acrobatic movements.

The roots of acro can be traced back to traditional Chinese dance, which later became popular on the Vaudeville stage. Recently, acro has gained widespread popularity through contemporary circus productions like Cirque du Soleil. It has also been featured in mainstream media through dance television programs such as 'So You Think You Can Dance,' 'America's Best Dance Crew,' and 'Dance Moms,' increasing its demand in amateur competitive dance and studio settings.

Mastering acro is particularly challenging for dancers as it requires training in both dance and acrobatics. Acro technique encompasses balancing, limbering, tumbling, and partnering, all of which rely on flexibility, contortion, and strength.

Dance Ambassadors is a certified Acrobatic Arts Studio. Our acro students and teachers follow an international syllabus with specific standards to meet. Students who complete their syllabus level can take exams, which include feedback, a score, and award placement based on the set standards by an Acrobatic Arts adjudicator. Mrs. Eva has been certified to teach acrobatic dance by Acrobatic Arts since 2018 and holds three certifications with Acrobatic Arts.
